What should be your Educational qualification and typing speed? |
Qualification: Here all aspirants need not only pass but also typing speed of Hindi and English. It is compulsory. A minimum of Intermediate/10+2/equivalent is necessary, typing (35-40 words per minute in English; 25-30 words per minute in Hindi; shorthand 80 words per minute)is required for the post of Assistant Sub Inspector (Stenographer) in CRPF.

Age limit: When you mentally prepare to join CRPF or to settle a career in CRPF then you have to decide fast because the age limit is short. Minimum age limit is 18 years and Maximum is 25 years.

Selection process: First round is Written exam of two hours which is based on four topics.Hindi/English language, Numerical Ability, General Intelligence, Clerical Aptitude. After qualifying written test you are called for Typing and/or shorthand test. Successful candidates are invited to go for Interview. After all these, your physical ability will be checked through Physical Efficiency Test and Physical measurements.

Physical Standards for male candidates: A minimum of 170 cms. (5 cms. The relation for Adivasis or Tribals) Chest-81 cms. (A minimum of 5 cms. of expansion; tribals 77-82cms
women candidates: A minimum of 157 cms. of height (154-155 cms. for Adivasis or Tribals)
Eyesight: Near Vision (corrected vision) J.I (better eye); J.II (worse eye)
Distant vision – better eye (corrected vision) – 6/6 or 6/9. Worse eye 6/12 or 6/9
Flat feet, Knock knees, squint in eyes and physical defects ruled out

Duties are Crowd control, Riot control, Counter militancy/insurgency operations, Fighting Left-wing extremism, Overall co-ordination of large-scale security arrangement (especially during elections in sensitive areas), VIP protection, Environmental degradation checking, Fighting aggression, Participating in UN Peace Keeping Mission, Rescue and relief operations (during natural calamities)
Other information: The Central Reserve Police Force on the enactment of the CRPF Act on 28th December’ 1949. It has completed 60 years of glorious history. The Force has grown into a big organization with 191 Battalions (173 executive Battalions including 2 Mahila Battalions, 10 RAF Battalions, 5 Signal Battalions and 1 Special Duty Group) 35 Group Centers including a Signal Group Centre, 10 training Institutions, 2 Central Weapon Store, 7Arms Workshop, 1 Static Workshop, 2 Mobile Workshops, 3 Base Hospitals and one 100 bed composite Hospital with a backup of well-knit administrative set up covering the entire geography of the country.
