SVMCMS(Swami Vivekananda Merit-cum-Means Scholarship)has been thoroughly revamped in the year 2016 to cover many students who are belonging to economically backward families in the state of West Bengal to pursue higher studies.

Who will get this scholarship?

1)This scheme benefits the students of class 11 and class 12 and at the undergraduate level in Engineering, Medical and Technical/Professional courses besides the same level of General Degree courses. This will be sanctioned on merit-cum-means criteria.
2)Students pursuing M.Phil courses and Doctoral courses from State-aided Institutions will come under the purview of this scholarship.
3)Kanyashree recipients seeking Post Graduate courses in Science, Arts, and Commerce stream from Universities of this state after obtaining an undergraduate degree with 45% marks will come under this scholarship.
The upper ceiling for family income has been fixed at Rs 2,50,000 per annum.

How to apply to get SVMCM scholarship?

Step 1: At first applicants need to fill up and submit the online application form. After the successful submission, an Applicant ID of 15 characters will be generated, and it will be used to login further to complete the remaining steps of the application as per instruction you have to choose password policy. Please download the Registration Slip or note down the system generated Applicant ID for future use. The Applicant ID will also be sent to your mail-id.
Applicants, willing to apply for K3 are required to fill up the authentication form to verify their existence in Kanyashree(K2) with the input fields Kanyashee(K2) Year of Application, Kanyashree ID, Applicant’s Name, Applicant’s Date of Birth, Father’s Name, Mother’s Name. On successful completion of K2 authentication, applicants will be forwarded to the registration form. The rest of the process is the same as the new application procedure.
For Renewal of existing beneficiaries, online registration is not needed. You can log in with your previous Applicant ID and Password to apply for Renewal.
One important thing is if any applicant forgets his/her Applicant ID and Password, they can recover this from Forgot Applicant ID/Password option.
Step 2: Next, you log in by using your Applicant ID and password. You have to fill up the rest of the application form. While uploading your Image and signature, please be careful about your Image format and file size of the name. Image and Signature format should be JPG/JPEG, and size should be in between 20KB-50KB and 10KB-20KB, respectively.
Step 3: In this step, you have to upload all your scanned documents. While uploading, please maintain the file format and size. Files should be in PDF format and size should not exceed 400KB.
Step 4: After finalizing the application, download the Verification Certificate, which contains two pages. The first page is the Applicant Copy, and the second page is the HOI(Head of the Institution) Copy.
After verification and signed by HOI, the applicant will scan the Applicant Copy and upload the same in the application portal to complete the application process. HOI will retain the HOI Copy.

What are the documents to be uploaded for fresh and Kanyashree Application?

1)Mark sheet of Madhyamik Examination or its equivalent (Both sides)
2)Mark sheet of last Board/Council/University/College examination (Both sides)
3)Income certificate of the family (Not Applicable for Kanyashree)
4)Domicile certificate as Aadhaar ID/Voter ID/Ration card/Certificate Issued by the concerned authority
5) Scanned copy of Bank Passbook (1st Page, containing A/C No. and IFSC)

1)Copy of the Marksheet of the last examination in the present course of study. (Both sides and in case of the semester examination system, year-wise semester Marksheets).

1)The applications will be received online through a portal. Then all requests will be verified by the Nodal Teachers of the respective school.
2)The selection will be made as per the eligibility criteria, and disbursement will make through direct Bank transfer.

What is the name of the Nodal organization?

The West Bengal Minorities’ Development & Finance Corporation (WBMDFC) will be the Nodal Organization for this scheme.

How much can you get a scholarship for a different level?

1)At HS level: Rs 1000 per month
2)At undergraduate degree: Rs 1000 to Rs 5000 per month
3)At Diploma(Polytechnic) level: Rs 1500 per month
4)At postgraduate level: Rs 2000 to Rs 5000 per month
